COURSE DESCRIPTION
After completing this programme, participants will be able to:
- Obtain Knowledge on Warehousing activities: General introduction to warehouse layout and other warehousing activities such as Data Entry Operation, Receiving, Loading, Unloading, Packing, Dispatch and Quality parameters.
- Demonstrate the Safe Operation Procedures for operating a forklift: Pre-operational conditions, Maneuvering & correct use of controls, Handling loads, Loading & off-loading, Specialized operations, Towing of lift truck, Emergency procedure.
- Know the cognitive and skills pertaining to various operating tasks: Pre-Operational checks, Operational checks, Parking/ stow procedure, Refueling, Loading, off-loading, securing & transportation of machines, Maneuvering of the machine, Lifting, moving & placing of loads, Stacking of loads & stacking rules, Loading / offloading loads, Working in confined spaces / elevated positions, Communication , Know how to prevent and respond in emergency circumstances.
- Conversant with all the related safety rules and procedures: Build on effective communication with inter departments, sub-ordinates and superordinates for smooth forklift operations and safety procedures.
- Acquaint with Environmental / Occupational Health & Safety: Get well versed with health and safety measures practised in warehouse, Individual Safety, PPE usage, security procedures, Quick Emergency Responses, First Aid, Fire Safety and general maintenance on Warehousing equipment.
